Niagara University men’s basketball Coach Joe Milhalich won the MAAC Coach of the Year Award Thursday as the Purple Eagles prepare for the league tournament.
Mihalich also was named Coach of the Year in 1999 and 2005. He has 264 career victories, the most by any coach in MAAC history.
Milhalich was grateful for the nod, but had winning the league tourney on his mind as the Purple Eagles hold the number one seed headig into this weekend tournament in Springville Mass. Niagara earned a bye to the quarter-finals by winning the regular season.
