December 20, 2013 –The Buffalo Bisons confirmed on Saturday night that Marty Brown has resigned from his position as manager of the Bisons. There is no official word yet for a replacement for the 2014 season.

The Buffalo Bisons and Toronto Blue Jays want to wish Marty Brown the best of luck in the future.

Brown won 312 games in four seasons as manager of the Bisons, more than another other Herd skipper in the modern era. He first served as manager for the club from 2003-2005 and returned in 2013 during the club’s inaugural season as the Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. He led Buffalo to a winning record in all four of his seasons with a combined record of 312-263 (.543 winning pct.). The Bisons were 74-70 under Brown during the 2013 campaign.

From 2003-2005, Brown’s Bisons posted a 238-193 record and won the 2004 International League Governors’ Cup Championship. For that, Brown was named International League Manager of the Year and Baseball America’s Minor League Manager of the Year. Brown also led the Herd to an International League North division title in 2005.
