DON’T GET ME STARTED screams at those who dare compare A-Rod, Alex Rodriguez to Lou Gehrig.

Lifetime stats tell the story.

It’s amazing how the media is making such a big deal out of A-Rod’s grand slam against San Francisco Friday proclaiming that A-Rod passed Lou Gehrig’s long-standing record of grand slams.

Certainly all those who don’t embrace A-Rod quickly point out that he accomplished most during that PED era and might demand that baseball doesn’t recognize that “feat.”  However, that being the case, let’s put the career stats on display.  Here they are.

What’s noteworthy about these (and I still can’t believe it) is that Lou Gehrig grounded into only 2 double plays in his entire career.  Note also the career strikeouts.  And one more thing, during Gehrig’s days any sacrifice flies counted as a time at bat.  If the 96 sac flies by Rodriguez were counted as TOB, it might lower his .300 career batting average.  Though A-rod has more HRs than Gehrig, he is far behind Gehrig in triples 163 to 50.

So all you stat buffs……do you think that A-Rod should be compared to Lou Gehrig?  As for me…..no way on Don’t Get Me Started.
