The 28th annual Jim Kelly Golf Classic went off without a hitch at Terry Hills golf course in Batavia Monday morning, but there was no denying it wasn’t the same without Jim being there. “Jim was trying to figure out a way he could get out here,” said brother Dan Kelly, “but, the doctors said no way.”

The Kelly Golf Classic had the usual who’s who of football stars which included Hall of Fame members Thurman Thomas, Bruce Smith, Joe Delamielleure, Bruce Smith, Dan Marino and new member Andre Reed. Other notable celebrities were Steve Tasker, Phil Hansen, Bill Polian, former Miami Coach Harold Schnellenberger, Lou Piccone, Booker Edgerson, Mark Kelso, Kenny Davis, Brian Nobbs, Danny Baldwin, Goldberg and many more.

Former Bills GM Bill Polian said ” Jim and his family have been through an awful lot and now it’s time to pray and wish him the best as he recovers from his ordeal.”

The Golf Classic raises money for Kelly for Kids and other charities and this year Dan Kelly shaved his head in honor Jim who had his head shaved over the weekend and contributions were raised for Camp Good Days.
