March 30, 2016 – It’s almost time to sit back, relax and enjoy the best time of year in Western New York. Baseball season is right around the corner and with Opening Day on April 14 at Coca-Cola Field just 15 days away, the Buffalo Bisons revealed ‘What’s New at the Ballpark’ so fans will be able to ‘Seize the Season’ in 2016.

The Bisons have always provided the absolute best family entertainment experience and value in town and the several additions made to the ballpark’s infrastructure, fan-favorite concessions menu and popular event schedule in 2016 will ensure that tradition continues this summer at Coca-Cola Field.

New Protective Netting will be installed by Opening Day, expanding the existing backstop netting to the ends of both dugouts with a thinner, less obtrusive material to enhance fan safety during all Bisons games. The team will also debut a new 30-Person Party Suite on the club level of the ballpark, a Buffalo-themed rental suite that pays tribute to everything that’s great about the 716!

One thing that the Bisons have always celebrated is the great-tasting food from our region. In 2016, the team is expanding their local-themed menu with a new Buffalocal Concession Stand at Section 100 of the main concourse. This new stand will serve specials from BW’s Barbeque and Wardynski’s as well as a variety of Buffalo-brewed craft beers. Another new stand at Section 105, the Backstop Beverages, will feature wines and select specialty beverages like hard cider and hard root beer.

To add great value to your Buffalo-favorites, fans can take advantage of two new ticket packs. The Ted’s Lunch Pack is available for all nine weekday afternoon games in 2016. This package includes a game ticket, a hot dog and Coca-Cola soft drink at the game and $5 in Ted’s Bucks all for just $13.75! Or, fans can join the Bisons’ new Consumer’s Craft Beer Club for only $99 and receive a game ticket to all 10 Bisons’ Tuesday games in 2016 and a special Consumer’s pint cup that can be filled with a complimentary craft beer from the Consumer’s Craft Beer Corner at each Tuesday game they attend.

The Bisons have also installed two new ice cream machines to double their capacity to serve fans a delicious ice-cold dessert on a warm summer night. The team’s schedule of Peanut-Reduced Seating games has been expanded to five games (one each month of the season) so that even more fans with allergy concerns can enjoy a day or night at the ballpark.

Off the field, the Bisons continue to add great events to their already jam-packed promotional schedule. Known to the Seinfeld-world as ‘’The Soup Nazi,” Larry Thomas will make a special guest appearance on August 13, presented by Amherst Security. Along with an autograph session, the Bisons will hold an ‘Elaine Dance Competition,’ give out black & white cookies to a lucky row and toss boxes of Junior Mints into the crowd. On July 22, the Bisons will also host a ‘Legends of the Aud Wresting Night,’ with special guests including former WCW president and WWE Raw general manager Eric Bischoff, The Nasty Boys Brian Knobbs and Jerry Sags, ‘The Destroyer’ Dick Beyer and Dominic Denucci.

All Tuesdays in 2016 will now be Ted’s 2-for-1 Tuesdays, where fans can purchase two regular priced tickets for the price of one with any Ted’s Hot Dog receipt. Each Tuesday will also feature a 2-for-1 concessions item.

Earlier this offseason, the Bisons announced several new additions to their event lineup, including a Marcus Stroman Bobblehead Giveaway as part of ‘Blue Jays Weekend’ on May 21, presented by Samuel Son & Co. Inc., an Aaron Sanchez Bobblehead Giveaway on August 10, presented by AXA Advisors, an  appearance by the XPOGO Stunt Team on August 12 and a Family Carnival day on August 14. A full 2016 promotional schedule can be found on Bisons.com.

On the field, Bisons fans will notice a new Team Alternate Cap to be worn at various times throughout the 2016 season. This official New Era Cap will be red with a blue bill and feature the Bisons retro logo of a ‘standing buffalo’ in blue within a red-stitched baseball.

The Bisons will also offer Columbia Sportswear in 2016, including a logo fleece and polo. Those items and many more can be purchased at either Coca-Cola Field gift shop, online at Bisons.com and at a New Team Merchandise Kiosk on the main concourse.

All 2016 Bisons single-game ticket and ticket packages are on sale now at Bisons.com. Canadian residents should be reminded that the Bisons will accept Canadian Cash At-Par for single-game ticket purchases at the Coca-Cola Field Box Office until May 8 (including future games purchased in advance) as well as at the concession stands through the team’s game on May 8.

With fan safety as the team’s number one priority, the Bisons would also like to encourage fans to re-visit all Coca-Cola Field policies at Bisons.com before opening day, including an updated fan carry-in policy (selfie-sticks, hoverboards among items not permissible).
