The Buffalo Sabres have rekindled hopes for a playoff run by winning their third staright under interim coach Ron Rolston a 4-3 shootout win over the New Jersey Devils. Jason Pominville scored twice in regulation and added a shootout goal to lead the Sabres to the win.

The Sabres trailed 2-1 heading into the third, but goals by Pominville and Jochen Hecht put Buffalo up 3-2. The Devils tied it at 3 and forced OT.

Tyler Ennis also scored in the shootout while Ryan Miller stopped both shootout attempts after making 28 saves in regulation.

The three-game win streak is Buffalo’s longest since the team won five straight from March 19-27 last season. Buffalo travels to New York for a Sunday night game in the Garden against the Rangers.
