Mark Pysyk to Rochester.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (January 24, 2014) — The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has recalled defenseman Chad Ruhwedel from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League (AHL). The team also announced it has assigned defenseman Mark Pysyk to Rochester.

Ruhwedel (5/7/90, 5’11”, 181 lbs.) leads all Americans defensemen with four goals and 17 points in 34 AHL games this season. He was last recalled to the Sabres in December, but did not appear in any NHL games before being assigned to Rochester again six days later. Ruhwedel last played for the Sabres in a seven-game stint at the end of the 2012-13 season.

The Sabres signed the undrafted free agent to a two-year, entry-level contract in April 2013.
