The Buffalo Sabres hung in there with the defending Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks  but dropped a tight 2-1 decision. Drew Stafford scored the lone Sabres goal in the 3rd with Buffalo down 2-0, but they were unable to tie it.

Buffalo native Patrick Kane scored his fourth goal of the season in the second period to give Chicago a 2-0 lead.

Goalie Ryan Miller was strong in net with 38 stops on 40 shots, but the Sabres offense continues to struggle.

The Sabres are now winless in six games and have just one point. They are back in action Monday night at home hosting the Minnesota Wild.
