It rained all day in Foxboro, but it hardly dampened the New England Patriots as they pounded the Buffalo Bills 34-20. LeGarrette Blount ran all over the Bills defense and their kick-off coverage team amassing 324 total yards. In all it was a disappointing finish to what had looked to be a promising season.

Tom Brady did not have his usual day throwing for just 122 yards in the downpour and one TD. Instead it was the New England rushing game that punished the Bills defense time and time again.

The Bills were down 16-3 at the half, but closed the gap to 16-10 in the 3rd when TJ Graham caught a Thad Lewis touchdown pass. It was at that point that a 80 yard plus kickoff return by the 250 pound Blount that allowed the Patriots to respond.

The Bills scored 17 second half points, but the Pats put 18 on the board in the 4th quarter and time and time again did whatever it took to maintain their advantage.

Coach Doug Marrone cited poor tackling by the defense and special teams in his postgame comments and also refused to divulge the reason why Marcel Dareus was benched for the entire second half.

The Bills finish the season at 6-10 and now face another long off season of various changes to improve a team that has not made the playoffs for fourteen years.
