Jason La Canfora reported on Sunday’s CBS NFL pregame show that former Giants GM Ernie LaCanfora could become the Bills football consultant in in the off season. LaConfora also claims Kim Pegula nd not Terry will become the Bills CEO and Russ Brandon’s role as President will be reduced to concentrating on business, not football. I find LaConfora’s report somewhat suspect.

First off, reports are that Terry Pegula has taken the title as Bills CEO, something that he had to do in creating a new LLC. According to a source there are a limited number of titles available when creating a new Limited Liability Company so Pegula chose CEO instead of the title of President which Brandon also had.

Regarding the hire of Accorsi, well who knows who in the inner business circles that Pegula travels in, but if the plan is to bring a football guro he need look no further than Bill Polian. Polian has let it be known that he would return to Buffalo in a football role if offered.

Accorsi has a full football resume and is responsible for Eli Manning getting drafted by the Giants, but his track record does not compare to Polian’s. LaCanfora could be grasping at straws because few on the national scene will challenge his Buffalo based reports, but passing on Polian for Accorsi would in my opinion be an early misstep by a Pegula ownership.
