The Buffalo Sabres have traded Right Winger Jason Pominville to the Minnesota Wild for forward Johan Larsson and goalie Matt Hackett, both on the Wild farm team in Houston. The Sabres have yet to confirm the reports, but it was known that the Wild had shown an interest in the 30 year old Pominville for the past few days.

Hackett, who at one time was considered the goalie of Minnesota’s future, has struggled at times this season for the Houston Aeros. Hackett still has some promise, but would not be considered a serious contender for a spot in Buffalo. Hackett went 19-20-3 this season for the Aeros with a 2.66 goals-against average and .907 save percentage.

Larsson was one of the best prospects playing for the Aeros by being a dependable two-way forward with lots of upside to both parts of his game. Larsson was third on the Aeros in scoring with 15 goals and 22 assists for 37 points in 62 AHL games this season.

Jason Pominville became a regular in the Sabres lineup in 2006-2007 season after being a second draft pick of the club in 2001. He’s recorded 10 goals and 15 assists through 37 games this season
