Teams Releases 2014 Promotional Schedule,

Jam-Packed with Events, Giveaways and Values

January 14, 2014 –For nearly three decades, Western New York families have spent their summer days and nights at Bison Games at Coca-Cola Field enjoying the best sports entertainment experience and value in town. That tradition will continue as the Buffalo Bisons today announced their 2014 Promotional Schedule, jam-packed with great events, giveaways and values to help all fans ‘Catch the Experience.’

The 129th season of professional baseball in Buffalo begins on Opening Day, Thursday, April 3 (2:05 p.m.) as the Bisons host the rival Rochester Red Wings at Coca-Cola Field. The 2014 season will be the club’s second as Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays.

“From the action on the field to the fun-filled events off, Bisons baseball has a long-standing reputation as being Western New York’s premier family and sports experience,” said Mike Buczkowski, Bisons Vice President/General Manager. “With another fantastic lineup of promotions, giveaways and values, we are encouraging our fans to once again ‘Catch the Experience’ of a Bisons game at Coca-Cola Field.”

‘Catch’ the Traditions of Coca-Cola Field

There are several Bisons games throughout the summer that are immediately circled on fans’ calendars once the schedule is announced. Opening Day 2014 will be April 3 as the Bisons host Rochester. The return of baseball to Buffalo includes all the fanfare of a new year as well as a 2014 Magnetic Schedule giveaway, presented by I-Evolve Technology Services. This year’s Star Wars Night Episode VII, presented by Alfred State College, is set for June 7 against Syracuse and will include Character Appearances, a Post-Game Battle and Fireworks as well as Customized Player Jerseys and Laser Sword sales to benefit the American Heart Association. The Bisons’ marquee event reaches a milestone year as July 3 against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre will be the 20th Annual KeyBank Independence Eve Celebration with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus and the Largest Fireworks Show of the Year. Of course, no Bisons season is complete without the annual Fan Appreciation Night on August 26 against Pawtucket with Giveaways every half inning and post-game Fireworks.

‘Catch’ your favorite Bash – Themed fridaynightbash!® Nights

The best day of the week has, and always will be, the fridaynightbash!®, presented by Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel. Weekends in Western New York begin at Coca-Cola Field with 11 fridaynightbash!® games on the schedule in 2014, each with its own unique theme. The list includes Bingo Night (May 2), Foul Ball Night, presented by Wise (May 16), Home Run Derby Night (May 30), Social Media Night (June 6), Summerbash! (June 20), Zombie Night to benefit the Food Bank of WNY (June 27), Country Night (July 11), ‘90s Night (July 25), Family Camp Out (August 1) and Racing Mascot Night (August 22).

Of course, no matter what the theme, every fridaynightbash!® features a fantastic post game Fireworks Show.

Starting in May, fans will once again be able to start their weekends early with the popular Bisons fridaynightbash!® Happy Hour. Coca-Cola Field opens early at 5:00 p.m. with great food and drink specials at the Craft Beer Corner until 6:30 p.m. There will also be live entertainment in the concourse, special features on the BisonsTV HD Scoreboard and live batting practice on the field.

‘Catch’ the Giveaways all season long

In 2014, Bisons fans will have plenty of opportunities to bring a little something extra home after a night at Coca-Cola Field. This year’s promotional giveaways include Bisons Caps on June 1, presented by NAPA Auto Parts, Bisons/Blue Jays Kids Tumblers on June 22 as part of Blue Jays Weekend, presented by Samuel Son & Co. Inc., and a Bisons Player Jersey T-Shirt on June 25, presented by ADPRO Sports. The club will give out Bisons Logo Baseballs, presented by Costanzo’s, as part of Play Catch Under the Lights Night on July 10. Team Autograph Night on July 30 will include 2014 Bisons Team Photos, presented by First Niagara. Kids will especially enjoy giveaways such as Whiffle Bat and Ball Sets on July 27, presented by NAPA Auto Parts, Bisons Youth Alternate Jerseys on August 13, presented by Subway, and Bisons Lunch Bags on August 24 as part of Back to School Day, presented by NY’s 529 College Savings Program. And the Chicken Wing/Celery rival will take center stage again on August 23 as the Bisons give out Chicken Wing Bobble Heads, presented by 2findyourhome.

‘Catch’ the Tributes to our Fans

As a part of the Western New York community for 129 years, the Bisons have always helped to bring people together to celebrate what makes our region great. The club’s annual Ethnic Festival Nights continue with Irish Night (June 24), Italian Night (July 23) and Polish Night (August 12), each of which includes a pre-game party in the centerfield pavilion and a post-game pyrotechnics display. The Bisons will also pay tribute to those that protect and serve and fight for our freedoms with Armed Forces Night on May 17, presented by the Naval Park, and Police Night on July 29, presented by FM Communications. Those fighting some of the toughest personal battles will be honored and celebrated on Turn the Park Pink Night on July 12. The Bisons will celebrate the youth of our area with the annual School Kids Game with a morning start on June 5, presented by NY’s 529 College Savings Program and Alfred State College, and Youth Baseball Day on June 8. And the Bisons will pay tribute to their great Major League partner for a whole weekend with Blue Jays Weekend on June 21-22, presented by Samuel Son & Co. Inc.

‘Catch’ the Values of Bisons Baseball

Bisons Baseball has been synonymous with providing fans with the best possible value at every experience. Along with great baseball action and fun-filled events, the Bisons also have several promotions geared towards saving fans even more money when they visit Coca-Cola Field. Every Monday in 2014 will be a Markdown Monday with a $7 advanced ticket price ($8 day of game) and select concession items for only $1. Every Tuesday is now a TWOsday at Coca-Cola Field, as fans can purchase two tickets for the price of one at the ballpark’s Box Office. Sundays are Buster’s Kids Club Sundays with kids club members receiving special benefits throughout the game, including the ability to use the ‘express line’ for the post game Kids Run the Bases, presented by Tim Hortons. Buster’s Kids Club memberships are just $15 per child and include two undated game tickets and a customized t-shirt to give fans an instant savings (over $100 of total value is included in package). Other highlights to the Bisons 2014 Promotional Schedule include the annual Mystery Ball Night on August 21. Pirate Night with character appearances is July 26 and Father/Daughter Day at the ballpark is scheduled for July 13. Western New York United Against Drug & Alcohol Abuse Family Fun Day will be May 3.
