The Buffalo Bills had a near victory Sunday against the Patriots and hope still exists in the heart of Bills fans. Now the Bills have the luxury of consecutive home games to continue to improve in front of a friendly crowd.

Sunday the Carolina Panthers come to town with former number one pick Cam Newton at quarterback. The Panthers could only muster 7 points against the Seattle defense last week so the Bills are not facing a New England level offense.

Defensively the Bills gave up plenty of yards against New England, but did come up with turnovers, one for a TD and showed a much more aggressive style. I look for the Bills “D” to have better success against Carolina on 3rd down and pressure Newton into mistakes.

Offensively the Bills only scored two touchdowns themselves last week. The Bill had two decent drives against New England, but were unable to hold on to the ball when it mattered. EJ Manuel was also somewhat limited by what Coaches Marrone and Hackett made available in his rookie debut. Fred Jackson admitted on his Monday night show on WBBZ-TV that the Bills have much more in their playbook than what they showed against New England.

After two weeks I see the Buffalo Bills 1-1 win a 27-17 win over the visiting Carolina Panthers.
