The Buffalo Bills have reportedly convinced LeSean McCoy that he should have no regrets reporting to the Bills after being traded for Kiko Alonso, giving McCoy a new contract worth $40 million dollars. McCoy’s agent Drew Rosenhaus has confirmed that LeSean has agreed to a five-year, $40-million contract. The Bills new running back will reportedly make $26.5 million in guaranteed salary and is set to make $16 million during his first year in Buffalo.

The trade between the Bills and Eagles will not become official until the NFL’s new year starts Tuesday.

Despite an inconsistent 2014 season, McCoy is considered one of the league’s top running backs. He led the NFL with 1,607 rushing yards in 2013, but was limited to 1,319 yards and five touchdowns last season behind an offensive line hobbled by injuries.

Since joining the league in 2009, McCoy ranks third in total rushing yards (6,792) and fourth in touchdowns (44).
