FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Buffalo Bills named Brandon Beane General Manager.

Bills Owner/CEO Terry Pegula said, “During our search for a new General Manager, Brandon stood out to Kim and I as he embodies the type of leader and type of person we want in our organization. Brandon has excelled in a variety of roles for a Panthers team that has consistently competed at a high-level in this league. We feel his vast understanding and experience in many facets of football operations will be invaluable to our club moving forward. We also believe his vision for the Buffalo Bills combined with his detailed approach will help build a foundation for sustained success. We are pleased to welcome Brandon and his family to Buffalo.”

Beane, who becomes the 13th general manager in franchise history, comes to Buffalo after spending 19 years with the Carolina Panthers—including the past two as the team’s assistant General Manager (2015-2016) and seven years as the team’s director of football operations (2008-2014). Throughout Beane’s time in Carolina, the Panthers won five NFC South division titles and two NFC conference championships.

Through his work as the Panthers assistant GM and director of football operations, Beane gained experience in nearly every facet of the Panthers personnel department. Working under Panthers General Manager Dave Gettleman, Beane has played a role in constructing the Panthers past six draft boards, has evaluated professional and collegiate players and worked closely with the football operations staff on the negotiation of player contracts.

In 2012, Beane was named the Panthers interim General Manager—holding the role for the final 10 games of the season. Carolina finished out the season with a 6-4 record under Beane’s watch.

A graduate of UNC-Willington and a native of Stanly County, North Carolina, Beane began his career in 1998 with the Panthers communications department before moving on to fill various football operations/personnel roles with Carolina before being named the team’s director of football operations in 2008.
