Iroquois Sophomore Connor Day won the Most Outstanding Wrestler award at the Section Six Div I wrestling Championships Saturday pinning Lockport senior Anthony Orefice in the 126 lb finals. Day was the 3rd seed in the weight class, but he defeated second seed David Killian from host school Lake Shore in the semi-finals to earn a shot against the favored Orefice.

Iroquois had another champ in junior Tristan Almeter at 138 lbs.

Clarence led the competition with three senior champions starting with Ryan Burns at 113 lbs, Nate Schwab at 170 lbs and Ryan Schlager at 182 lbs.

Lockport had two champions in Mitch Seaver at 99 lbs and Kirk Feeney at 152 lbs.

Niagara Falls had a pair of champions in senior Donny McCoy at 120 lbs and senior Ryan Garner at 220 lbs.

Jamestown had two champions as in seniors Kyle Liuzzo at 145 lbs and Dylan Lundmark at 160 lbs.

The New York State high school wrestling championships will be held in Albany New York on February 27th & 28th.
