Happy Father’s Day from All Sports WNY. This is a day to show appreciation to your father, grand-father, god-father or a man who has been important in your life. I hope you all have someone who fits that bill.

I always enjoyed receiving the home made cards on Father’s Day from my own sons. Whether it was drawings of super-heroes, or family portraits I held on to each and everyone of them.

Waiting for the breakfast they would attempt to make on Sunday morning or sitting at the kitchen table as they piled their gifts in front of me, it was always a good day.

My Dad has been gone eight years now and I especially miss him on this day. Dad really enjoyed the family on this day and all of his grand kids coming over for a cookout. Those memories stay with me forever and are what makes this day so special.

There are far too many children out there who do not have a regular “Dad” at home. Someone who can help show the way and set an example by his actions.

The men out there who do mentor and lead are important figures in our lives. Today is the day to say “Thank-you” in whatever way you feel in appropriate. A tight hug and a simple “Happy Father’s Day” always works.
