Opening Statement: One day left of our spring, I think it’s been a very productive spring, able to take care of a lot of things. We obviously have a lot of work to do but the number one goal was to get everybody to learn the offense and really get them prepared for training camp. I think the guys have done a great job of coming in and being consistent, working hard, and so we’ll take a little break after tomorrow and I think the guys will be ready to go.

Q: How hard of a challenge in this three-way QB competition has it been to get done what you need to get done?

A: You know, every day is an opportunity, and I like how those guys are competing and really they’ve been, all three, a real joy to work with.

Q: Will you tinker with the playbook at all?

A: Well I’ll tell you what, really and truly what we are doing is we’re trying to install the entire offense, the breadth and width of it, so we’ve thrown a lot at these guys and some of it will stick, some of it might only come up in two games this year, some of it might come up every week, you never know. So we have all of that at our disposal and then we got to make those tough decisions on what exactly we will focus on.

Q: What do you want the guys to focus on this break and what do you expect them to be at when they come back?

A: The best shape of their life, really. I think they’ve worked a lot of this offseason towards that so as a professional they all have a lot of individual goals, we’ve got a lot of team goals, so for them to show up in the best shape of their life and just keep doing what they’re doing.  We got a lot of guys that love the game of football.

Q: What exactly are you looking for to thin out the pack? Is it consistency?

A: They need to lead the team. You know, every play is a little bit different so they’ve got to execute that play and then handle that play accordingly, handle the group, but also we’re sticking with the plan, and there’s no rush. At the appropriate time we’ll make the right decision and that decision will come to the forefront in training camp.

Q: What has impressed you about (Cyrus) Kouandjio to give him the looks that he’s getting for right tackle?

A:  I think he’s making a lot of progress, that’s the number one thing, guys coming in everyday, showing up number one, showing up on time working hard and showing improvement, and that’s what he’s done.

Q: Will you do a lot of offensive line shuffling in training camp or have you seen what you want to see already?
A: Well I don’t think anything is set in stone. I think guys either get better or worse, their stock goes or down every day in our eyes at least, we’ll see how it goes and it’ll be a day to day process.

Q: Minicamp wrapping up, ready for training camp?

A: Well training camp is a time where we go, and we get away from our normal facilities so that we can bond as a team and start to put things together.  I mean it’s not an environment that’s conducive to a country club, instead you get prepared for a season…It’s miserable for everybody, and (Rex) wants it to be miserable, and it will be like a grinding three week period of time.

Q: But he also likes to have a little bit of fun?

A: Yeah we’ll have fun.  But we’re there to work and we have to get our work done before we play – you know when you’re a kid, and your parents say you have to get your work done before you can go outside and play, well it’s that type of an atmosphere.

Q: How is the line coming together, seeing as all five guys have to come together as one?

A: You know things are coming along quite nice for us, we’ve been installing a lot of plays, G-Ro (Greg Roman) has got a very extensive, very very broad and very in-depth offense, it’s a lot of plays, a lot of terminology, a lot of new stuff, and what’s nice is we’re all learning together so we’re all kind of coming together as a group. We’ve got a long ways to go. We’re playing right now to come together as one unit, but I think you know, we definitely have a long way to be where we want to be.

Q: What is coach Aaron Kromer’s feedback? What are you hearing from him most as a group?

A: Right now we’re just preaching good technique. We’re all learning the new technique, new terminology, so we’re all trying to speak the same language first. But we’re really just trying to learn technique, we’re all trying to step with the proper foot, proper hand placement, things like that. We’re really at the building blocks right now.

Q: Coach Ryan said that you were doing an outstanding job, is it a goal of yours to come to work everyday and go about your business?

A: Yeah, I think so. I think the goal is really just kind of assimilate to the team as fast possible, you know, I’ve been here before, I know some of the guys on the team, so, it’s been a nice spring, you know, just come up here and really concentrate on football and really just get back into it and get back into a good rhythm.

Q: What’s it been like these past two months learning the offense and going through it with three different quarterbacks?

A: I’m used to it.  In Philadelphia we had a lot of different quarterbacks come in and come out.  So I’m kind of used to that.  The biggest thing here is all the quarterbacks are getting reps with the first team.  So it’s not like I never get reps with none of the quarterbacks.  They all rotate in and out with the ones and each day they have their day where they’re one.  So you get a lot of work with the first team.

Q: Is there a potential that it could hold you guys back though? Rather than getting on the page with one guy and building the offense around the one guy.

A: I don’t know how it is for the other players, but for myself I’ve been in this position a couple times so I’m kind of used to it. You just wait it out. Let the guys compete. You encourage them, support them. Each play, each drive you let them kind of handle the offense and just support them – that’s all you can do. I mean the coaches have the last say, that’s how it’s always been, so as a player you just compete with them.

Q: Once you guys get to training camp though, it could be totally different. From the stand point of who knows who is at what position, you’re in pads, who knows if the play book changes up… Things could be different couldn’t they?

A: I can’t answer that question because I don’t know that the future holds.  All I know is that every day just come out to compete, get better with the players that we have in the huddle.  You have to go up there and play.  I’ll let the coaches… I’m sure the coaches are used to this too, I think it’s a hard job to really try to get the roster together.  There’s some players you probably love, some players you probably like, and guys are battling out and they all look good so the hard part is just picking one of them.  So will let them have that job – I’ll just stick to running and catching and blocking.

Q: Is it tough getting on the same page with the quarterbacks given the rotation going on?

A: It is.  That’s where training camp comes in. You’re going to get more time with maybe the starter, maybe the backups.  So you just have to find your way with where you fit in and get as much work as you can.

Q: Do you feel like you’re on track still to be there once training camp starts first day?

A: Oh most definitely. I’ll be there first day of training camp competing. It’s all about now, how I’m going to take the offseason, getting in shape and coming back ready to compete.

Q: How important is it, even on the limited reps, to get back in before training camp?

A:  Its feels good.  Just to know I can get on the field and compete and go out there and make a play or two. Just to get back there is a great feeling to me, and just to see coaches confidence in putting me back there and knowing that I’m healthy – it was a great feeling for me.
