The optimism surrounding the Bills is quickly fading following their 23-10 loss to Pittsburgh. Rookie EJ Manuel looked very shaky in his first start after missing four games and will be the focus of fans ire this week.

Bills Coach Doug Marrone refused to single out Manuel in his post game comments, but it was obvious Manuel had difficulty getting in rhythm against the Steelers. Manuel was 22 or 39 for 155 yards and one touchdown, but much of that yardage came in the final minute with the Steelers already assured a victory.

The Bills highly touted run game also struggled against Pittsburgh with Fred Jackson rushing for 55 yards and CJ Spiller just 23. Offensively the Bills failed to muster any real attack against a team that was ranked 31st in the league against the run.

So Buffalo now sits at 3-7 with the Jets coming to Buffalo next week. Any remote hopes of running the table and sneaking in as a wildcard team vanished with the loss in Pittsburgh.
