On Friday, February 6, the USA Network in conjunction with the NFL will debut the 4th Annual NFL Characters Unite Documentary, premiering at 7/6c as part of USA’s Character’s Unite month.

The one-hour special will feature a special profile of some of today’s most popular NFL players including the Buffalo Bills’ very own Mario Williams. Narrated by former NFL star and NBC Sunday Night Football Emmy®-winning sportscaster Cris Collinsworth.

Tthe documentary profiles these NFL stars who have faced difficult life challenges, including Williams nearly sidelining his football career after losing a loved one in the war in Iraq.

Each of the players featured mentors a young person in his community who is currently struggling to fit in, deal with bullying and overcome adversity. By sharing their stories and engaging in confidence-building activities coordinated through local YMCAs, the players encourage the kids to find the character, strength and courage to persevere and pursue their own dreams.
Mario Williams works with Sophia whose father was killed in Afghanistan when she was only three. It’s been a struggle for her to deal with that loss and it’s been compounded by the bullying she has experienced at school on a daily basis.

Other featured NFL players include: Jamaal Charles, Darren Sproles and Richard Sherman.
